I was recently inspired by Cara Stein and her blog called “1700 days”.

Cara says of herself:

My focus is remembering that life is short and making your best days a common occurrence. I’m a writer and dreamer with a PhD in self-reinvention. (Or was that computer science?) You can join me at .

Cara has written some very good books which I will feature through my coaching journey, however what I really liked about Cara when I came across her blog was that ‘She made me think’! I started to consider ‘How long do I have left’? and what do I want to be doing to make my best days a common occurrence?

So, I did the math – and drumroll…. Since I will be 58yrs on my next birthday, I have 10, 231.2 days left. According to I will kick the bucket at precisely 4:48am on Tuesday March 25, 2042 – 15 days before my 86th birthday. Well, that’s a cheerful and sobering thought!

The point is, I’ve got a lot of living to do between now and 2042. In a recent blog I posted one of my favorite inspirational sayings:

“Life’s journey is not to arrive at the grave safely in a well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, totally worn out, shouting HOLY CRAP… WHAT A RIDE!” ~Anonymous

You know, I have a lot of dreams I’m yet to see become reality, I have people to see and places to go, I have not yet even thought of. I have a ‘bucket list’ a mile long and to achieve some of them I need to get UNSTUCK both in my thinking and in reality; to achieve other things on my list I need to make a WORK TOWARD list and a “STOP DOING’ list.

How many days do you have left?

  • What do you need to start doing, stop doing or plan towards?
    • Who can or will help you get there?
      • Do you need to talk?

So I found that there is a ‘Total Solar Eclipse’ scheduled for my ‘promotion to glory’ date in 2042 which is best viewed from Singapore… maybe I should book a flight for that day to ensure I get a good look at the eclipse from earth’s perspective – after all later that day I’ll be looking at the eclipse from Heaven!
